Question - Series 1 Brake Drums

OK, I am feeling pretty stupid here.

I have spent hours trying to get the brake drums off my Series 1, 86".

I've removed the screws that go through the front of the drums, soaked them down with penetrating fluid, and hammered and pried away at them with no success. I know the shoe is not binding inside since I can spin the wheel freely, so I was thinking that the drum must just be rusted to the wheel but it seems to be loose enough to wiggle slightly. Yet prying and pounding get me nowhere.

Am I missing something? Usually at this point I would realize I am missing something really obvious (face-palm, Doh!).

They tend to rust around the lugs, center hole and the face. Could also be that a ridge has formed inside the drum so it won't slide over the shoes. If this is the only thing holding it up you should notice some movement. If you don't notice any movement then it's probably the rust situation.
Does it have a jacking hole on the face of the drum? If so, thread a bolt in it to apply some pressure while you're pounding on it.
Penetrating oil, heat, hammer, swearing....not necessarily in that order!

Some anti-seize upon reassembly.
