Quick Fist to mount Firearm

I picked up a few of the quick fist mini's and a couple of the 2 1/2 " ones. While contemplating how to mount the Hi LIft Jack in the back of the truck with the 2 1/2 inchers , I got to thinking.....has anyone used these to mount a firearm(rifle,12guage, handgun) in their rig. I don't want a "gun rack" in the window, just something that will hold something up out of the way.

Thanks

Matt

I took this pic as a joke, this position is actually for my axe, but in a more secure spot why not?

Like I said I was just screwing around, I never drove with it mounted that way, but yes it was solid. My axe is probably close to the same weight and it never moves. If I were to really mount the shot gun I'd do it inside the tub under the rack such that it would not be seen or allow the gun to get snagged out by a tree limb. I would think on the back wall of the cab, behind the seat, in a pick up would be perfect

My favorite 3 mounting options are:

1) S&W 65 .357 cross-draw on the belt;

2) Springfield Armory Champion .45, strong side on the belt;

3) S&W 610 10mm/.40S&W 3 inch snubby, cross-draw on the belt;

I can hit anything y'all can hit with a shot gun at whatever range, and I don't have to reach for the quick fist release. :D

Lets go skeet shooting to test that. :hehe: :pROFSheriffHL:

I'm no great shot thats for sure. As long as the robber looks like this I can be confident that I'll hit it. :26_13_1:

quick draw :gunt: is not my thought here...just looking for transport options and that "just in case" possibility.
for ease of access situations, I just keep the S&W 6906 next to me

I was just kidding. You said you could hit anything someone with a shotgun could. I was just being silly.
I know what you mean. If you want it fast, it better be on you. To carry a rifle during offroading the quickfists will work well it seems like.

Ya, I picked these quick fist's up and I started thinking of the different applications that they could be used for and securing a firearm was one of them. I am debating on picking up a couple of the larger ones and see if they can be used to secure a jerry can from top to bottom , instead of the ratchet strap I am utilizing now.... I like the possible uses for these things.

I was referring to the riot gun shown in the photo, not a skeet gun. Clay pigeons are a challenge with a handgun, and shooting rounds into the air is dangerous.

On the other hand, my best one-shot with a pistol -- squirrel at 85 feet with an 1860 Colt Army cap and ball revolver (excellent sauteed in butter and bourbon over an open fire), shot made from the sitting position; second best one-shot with pistol -- head shot (popper, not human) at 85 yards in broken terrain with 3 inch S&W610 using .40 S&W 185 grain jacketed round, tactical scenario, kneeling; best one-shot with carbine -- dead center at 600 yards with Colt AR15 carbine, M4 16 inch barrel, open military peep sights, and 69gr boat tail hollow point match ammo, NRA High Power Match, prone; second best carbine shot -- center mass at 425 yards, uphill, in a tactical drill with the same AR15, kneeling; fastest Dozier drill (5 shots on 5 targets at 35 to 45 feet, from the holster), standing -- 5.4 seconds; highest score in drills -- 48 out of 50 with the same 3 inch S&W610. So, perhaps a clay pigeon is still possible. God smiles on the Irish.
