RAAMmat'd Cruiser

Just finished putting some RAAMmat BXT on my cruiser's front two doors. I'll get the speakers in next week and test out the dampening. I used it on my 4runner and had great results with it. The price point is nice as well.

I have used dynamat on several occasions to eliminate rattles or reduce noise. Just use caution in how much, as it is heavy stuff.

It definitely adds weight. I did my entire 4runner...ripped out the seats, carpet, headliner, all panels, etc. Rig got a helluva lot quieter. I'm sure over time that my door hinges would weaken.

This time around I'm just gonna do the two front doors where I will have speakers. I'm using MB Quart QSD 6.5 drivers. They will be playing down to 80hz. If I don't use this stuff the door will rattle to pieces. Not to mention the doors will eat up any sound quality that the speakers put out.

I gutted my entire truck top to bottom and did total sound deadening, this project was a giant PITA....
But, what a difference it made in sound quality and decreased road noise!
I used 100 sq ft of Fatmat on the floorpan, back wall, and doors, and 30 sq ft of Elemental Designs eDead v1SE2 on the roof/headliner along with a layer of closed cell foam.
Now when you shut a door, it sounds solid ;)

MB's huh? No messing around there. I miss my old system RF's and MB's, but in my Taco the el-stock-o is good enough for me.

How much does the RAAMat weigh?

The QSD's are awesome. I have the matched up with the Pioneer P9 Combo, which is an active processor. Sold my JL Audio 12W7 and purchased an Image Dynamics Max 10" sub. I need to free up some space. I love music and I love driving to music even more. RAAMaT weighs .35 lbs /ft².

Kinda late here, but...

Does the RAAM stuff provide a heat barrier also? I know DynaMat does a bit, and will help with floor heat?
