Thats like a false-positive.

You can mod the truck however you want to, but in the end you can't change what the door sticker says.

State DOT laws only care about tire and axle ratings. Those are determined by tire width and number of tires. The actual legal GVWR is determined by your registration. Go ahead. Read the laws. The law doesn't care about that sticker on your door.

PWs are nice and have nice features, but those features come at a premium price even for a used truck

Seems like alot of the 2500 6.4 trucks I found have 3.73s and most 3500 6.4 trucks have 4.10s. There are exceptions but this seems to be the norm

My 2004 3500 had 4.10s, and seemed perfect when I ran 35s and 37s

Is Louisiana one of those states that you can pay a little more and increase your GVWR? Pretty sure that doesn't fly out here.

I don't dissagree that the trucks are basically the same minus some spring rate issues, but that becomes a personal decision not factual when you decide to go over your weight ratings.

My mega cab has 3.73, which we’re fine with the stock 275/70R18. When I switched tires, I stepped up to a 295/70R18. While not awful, I wish my truck had 4.10 gears. I plan on keeping this truck for several years, so I may end up changing gears at some point.

Have you looked at the DOT regulations in your state? They are pretty consistent across the country.

Here it is. Exactly the same as Louisiana.

You guys can make assumptions and play make believe DOT police all you want but the regulations are published and clear as day. The sticker means nothing except as a recommendation to preserve the vehicle as stated in the FAQ at the bottom.

i dont - this info was passed to me that the 6.4 was built to the same load and overhaul interval as the Cummins by a Chrysler engineer.

Water-cooler talk passed off as gospel?\

Copy that. ;)

I can pretty well assure you that the 6.4 Hemi does not share the same overhaul intervals as any Cummins

Any improvements or design changes on the 9.25 AAM unit hub bearings?
I haven’t heard of any failures on 13 plus trucks, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t out there. I got a spare set in good condition in my shed, I’m in central il, if you get the truck come get the bearings there yours for free. Make a good spare set.

I have 2016 2500 tradesman with a 5.7 and get about 14.5 -15.5 give or take unloaded. I’ve hauled several yards of rock on a trailer a few times as well as over full loads of construction debris and never wished for more power. The only time I’ve seen less than 13mpg was a round trip about 40 miles of Padre Island National Seashore. I do only have 265/70-17 BFG A/T

The 6.4L came out in 2015 for the Power Wagon right? This was also the first year for the 4.10s in the PW?

Before that, it was only the 5.7L (what HP version???) With 4.56s?

No, 2014 was the first year for the 6.4L and 4.10 gears in the Power Wagon.

The ram box beds are pretty cool, love the added easy access storage

How well do they open, and not freeze up, during the winter?

I am just not sure I could ever own a truck without a cap
