I have looked at 6,000 lb winches before, more for weight savings to make it easier to move on a receiver carrier.
The Ramsey model seems a bit heavy for a 6000 lb winch at 84lbs without cable, and looking deeper it appears to be built on the same platform as their patriot 8000 and 9000 series as it has similar dimensions, weight, and look, with less capacity but more line speed. That tells me they are the same winch with different gearsets. Looking at the parts numbers in the manual confirms my suspicion, as most of the replacement parts numbers are identical except for the gearsets. So that is an 8000 lb winch with a different gearset to increase line speed but limit capacity. At that point, I would just opt for an 8000 lb winch.
If you are looking for a lighter and smaller 6000lb winch, look at the comeup DV-6s. It is a bit narrower(18.1x6.3x10.1 versus 22.7 x 6.1 x 9.9 ), and weighs exactly half at 42lb with cable than the Ramsey does without cable.
