Got a new ride today. I'll probably leave it stock, except for getting a fuel nozzle installed on both sides. She's a 4x6 on 12' tires. 3.2 feet of clearance, with a payload of 300000 lbs. She's a bit of a pig on gas, but pretty capable. You have to make sacrifices, you know?

I wouldn't leave it stock, at least add a good Warn winch (at least 15,000# or if you're broke after shelling out $5mil just throw a Tirfor in the back) and a hi-lift, it's hard to tell from the photo but I reckon you could find a spot for the hi-lift on the bumper bar if you move one of the ladders.

And I'd make the ladders detachable so they can do double duty as sand ladders and add provision for a tarp over the tray so you can sleep in the back.

Just make those few changes and I reckon that should be a pretty capable vehicle both as a DD and a crawler on the weekends.

Get some good looking black wheels to replace those yellow urban looking wheels. Gonna need a big big big air system to air up after the Rubicon but if you can afford a large SUV like that then you can afford a 2000 pound Power Tank.

Oh yes I forgot, get rid of the duals. They can be a real pain, especially if you get a Landrover stuck between the tyres, they are very abrasive and can take forever to get out.

Hey thanks for the tips, guys. It's always good to hear from people with more experience. I really like the sand ladder idea, and the pool seems so obvious now. Why didn't I think of that?
