We call those 'Monkey Trees' here in Oregon USA but they seldom get that big here. Nice photo!

YEA! O-e-Gone (reads as Ory-gun )! My state and by far the most beautiful place one could be. Lots of great places but here we are...no sales tax....no emissions and I might add we have clear clean skies cause we aren't idiots about industry. Cheap plates 80 bucks for 2 years. Fishing is great everywhere even in our cities. Hunting surpasses most states and cheap licenses. easy peasy modification laws. And the photo above just everyday sample, not even a true sample of how great it can be. 4X4 trails all over. More microbrewery's than any state even Washington the 2nd best state.
You guys keep showing me photos of ditches in Nebraska......4X4 trails in Iowa or Kansas or Colorado (which is beautiful but has cold winters and huge sales tax).....O and except for a few gals w/ arm pit hair we have the best looking women tin the lower 48...period.
But yes the Upper Deschutes is one hell of a beautiful place among 1000s.
You guys don't know what you missing! I'll be drinking a micro brew for you guys 4x4ing a Nebraska ditch tonight....cheers! I'll only be 2 blocks from home no matter where I go.......hehehe.

Yes you do live in a most gorgeous and beautiful state bobDog. I lived there for awhile too over 30 years ago and go back occasionally but there is beauty everywhere be it Nebraska, Kansas, Iowa. Living in western Colorado as I have for over 20 years I heartily appreciate the mountainous West BUT I do appreciate the glories of the plains and prairies and Nebraska Sandhills. Don't knock what you have never been to. I am leaving for the 500 mile journey eastward for my second visit this summer to the Nebraska Sandhills. This will be a Wildflowerfest of viewing and photography of some of the most beautiful wildflowers in the country. Here's few more pics from earlier this summer of the Sandhills wildlife that I know you will make fun of but my gain is your loss. Visit the Nebraska Sandhills sometime and prepare to be stunned by it's beauty and remoteness.

Dave, I really like the Instagram shot

Thanks! :) Its my local surf spot.. there wasn't much out there to ride so I sat there a while on the bench, shot this pic, then ended up just paddling out and up and down the coast a little to get the exercise. hah.
