Good to see some mono at Mono Lake, that was a favourite haunt of many famous B&W photographers. And those tent rocks look amazing.

A rare sight, the Hale telescope open in daylight.

It's not used for working on the sun then I assume?

I was the IT Geek. Nowhere even close to the Alpha Geek though. Geeks run thick up there. Still, I did get to work on some cool stuff like Re Aluminizing mirrors.

Just got back from a Imogene pass, hurricane pass, animas forks, california, corkscrew, red mountain drive of the passes... fall color and snow... Just got a one foot of snow last night so we just got it in last min.

Just woke up to 4" in town and a foot of snow on the passes and mountains around... winter is here. Lets hope ski season here in telluride will be a great one!!

Just took this picture about an hour ago on the way home from work. Man what a rush!

Wow, I can't tell if that is a funnel cloud coming down or some unusual horizontal funnel formation. Any more information in what it was?

I have not heard what it was. When I first saw it appeared as a horizontal type band and it looked like it was creeping. I kept watching it and finally stopped. Took the pic with my IPhone. Wish I would have had my good camera with me. This thing was huge!

I have one of those! We were camping in Istria, Croatia, and big thunder clouds came in.



Then it started raining and funnel showed up on the horizon. I was so busy taking pictures and it was moving so fast that by the time we started putting our awning away it was a downpour. Got drenched to the last thread. :snorkel:



Sunset that night was really cool too - very interesting cloud that looked like a giant mutant bat was hanging in there for a very long time. Spooky! :Wow1:
