This was a perfect winter morning for walking in the hills around the Mukwonago River at Lulu Lake State Natural Area and Crooked Creek Preserve, Wisconsin.

These ponds are the spring-fed headwaters of the Mukwonago River. The upper part of the river is one of the most pristine streams in southeastern Wisconsin and is home to several endangered mussel species.

Had to look at something like this today after a 25 cm (10") dump of fresh snow last night with snow squalls and another 10cm on its way!

Governor Dodge State Park, Wisconsin.

Cox Hollow Lake. For the first time in my life, I overcame my fear of walking on frozen bodies of water and crossed the lake on foot. I don't think I'll make a habit of doing that though.

Nice pic Fred. Where was this taken? Looks like Pipe, backdoor. Surfing photography is a big hobby of mine. Generally go to the North Shore every Dec for the pipeline Masters etc. I'll dig up a few pics.

Cheers, Steve

Hey Steve,

You are exactly correct.

If the world returns to normal, we need to hook up on the North Shore in December. I just went there for the first time. Had an engineering project in Honolulu that I "had" to supervise. Took advantage by spending a few days kicking around the whole north rim.

I would freakin' love to see some of those 40-footers...

Be Well!

Fred
