First snow of the year! These were taken today in the Sandia's which are just east of Abq. and exceed 10,000ft.

Hmmm! I know that road. Did you go down any of the trails nearby?

Any speculation as to when Sandia Ski area will open up?

It's the road that takes you through Placitas and meets with the highway that takes you to the crest. And I've heard of other 4x4 roads that branch off the main road but haven't been able to find them.

I'm sure the Sandia Ski area won't be open until after Thanksgiving. There have been years in the past where it hasn't opened at all though. We need a good winter and I hope we get it.:ylsmoke:

The first snow of the season fell here in the Sacramento Mountains of Southern NM. So I just couldn't resist a drive through the backcountry to see. Just a couple of hours out in it sure refreshes the spirit.

I'm not to familiar with the Sacramento's. I went camping at Bonito Lake a few years back and I think that's in the range. Beautiful mountain area in the middle of the desert.

We just got a little over a foot of snow up here in northern Colorado last week, I wish I would have taken some pictures.
