Man, I wish it would snow out here in NC. (fat chance)

Don't jinx yourself.

I've lived in WY & CO since 1994. But by far the worst/best/biggest storm I've ever seen was the Blizzard of '93, while I was a student at ASU in Boone.

From Wiki - "The heaviest snow recorded was at Newfound Gap, where U.S. 441 crosses the Tennessee and North Carolina border, with five feet (1.5 m);[citation needed] drifts up to 14 feet (4.3 m) were observed at Mount Mitchell. Snowfall totals of between 2 and 3 feet were widespread across northwestern North Carolina. Boone, North Carolina — in a high-elevation area accustomed to heavy snowfalls — was nonetheless caught off guard by 24 hours of below zero Fahrenheit temperatures along with storm winds, which (according to NCDC storm summaries) gusted as high as 110 miles per hour. "

I personally observed over 4 feet of snow at my apartment. I was snowed in for 7 days, literally having to dig a tunnel to get out my front door. The winds, the thunder, the freezing temps and the drifts were supernatural. A 5pm curfew was put into effect and the Nat'l Guard was airdropping supplies into town. One of the crazier weather-weeks in my life....

Last Winter;

We love the white stuff but often have to run up the mountain in the winter to get-some. The Sunshine coast of western British Columbia can see a whole year pass without a snow day, but not this year. :wings:

Cheers

Do we need a Sacramento area meet and greet/snow run or what? Wasn't the snow delightful on this last storm?

Maximumrob, in full agreement with your thread 'debt-free livin' is spot on to the live style we choose. Decided to not to have new car payments again (though my wifie is amazing and paid off our last Camry, then Astro off in less then 2.5 years each :wings: ), cause it did nothing for our fiscal plans. Several years ago discovered that low mileage, economical, 15 year old vehicles can be imported from Japan to Canada for reasonable cost. We have two Mitsubishi Delicas, both powered by WVO, and my grey one there was self imported imported for less cost then a new ARB front bumper and winch. Mitsubishi vans have great build quality and every Canadian owner maintains them religiously. Must admit that my personal ideal vehicle since Highschool is bang-on to Dylan's rig above!

Edit: we have our own little forum: http://www.delica.ca

Best Regards

There is a pretty big film festival going on that weekend here, so I would not be able to do that. Are you both monday through friday 9-5 kind of workers?
