Wiffleball Batter
So I was on my way to Utah last week, driving over Vail pass, and there was a Range Rover in front of me. Looked like an older model, but it's hard to tell since they didn't change the body style a lot.
Got closer to it, close enough to read the badge on the tailgate and it read
"DESTROYER SWB"
I was thinking "******?" Who would name an off road vehicle "Destroyer?"
Even if you account for the fact that this may have been a late 70's - early 80's RR, I would still think that a name like "destroyer" would play right into the hands of the anti-vehicular access groups, wouldn't it?
Plus I've had more than a passing interest in 4wd vehicles for about 33 years now and I've just never heard of a "destroyer" model RR. In fact, the only model name I associate with RR is the "County" model (which I think is a LWB model.)
Is this maybe something that was made for a non-English speaking market and then gray-marketed into the US? The vehicle in question had CO license plates. Anybody else ever hear of a "Destroyer" model RR?
