Really BRIGHT lights

$700 per light...that is a rip off. I see $200 in parts, material and offshore labour. 304SS is not that strong comparative to heat treated 17-4 or even investment cast titanium. Just another thing to put onto a truck to make the owner look cool. The rest of the price is for marketing, fluff and to recoup research cost.

I hate when they say virtually indestructable...either they are or they are not.

How is it a rip off? They aren't forcing anyone to buy them. They price their stuff at a certain price point to target a certain market. Don't like the price don't buy it.

Right.
They're "wow, look at ME lights".
They'll be on some SEMA builds, some princess rigs at the Hooters' Thursday night is trucknight rigs, and other silver spoon builds. But not any blue collar rigs; we'll stick to the Hella 4000 and other lights that work better.
They're the peacock plumes of the automotive lighting world.

imho Hella 4000

I agree, btw. For the price and availability, the 4000 Rallye with the Eurobeam is my favorite driving light.
HIDs are out for driving lights due to warm-up time. LEDs, the good ones like JW Speaker and Trucklite, are an option but tend to be pricey.

Put a 100w bulb in the Hella 4000 and see where you're going. Like that guy on the suit ad says, "you're gunna like the way you look (through your windshield and see where you're going)"...

I just hope they don't blind too many on-coming motorists and cause too many accidents.

I have seen this comment (phrased similarily) in a few of the lighting threads? Even the Hella Rallye 4000 (and all other highly rated driving beam lamps) with a 55watt bulb will be a hazzard to oncoming drivers if not shut off at a distance of 450m separation.

Driving lights, the better ones, have a cut-off of sorts. They focus the light and the light source is decently matched to their parabola.
Most of the HID and LED products that I've seen aren't quite so scalpal-like in their execution. What they lack in finesse they make up with volume. Like Rosann Barr singing.

So many comments and not a mention of aircraft landing lights! If you want bright, check them out at the airport after dark! The video appeard to be about like a Cesna or light single engine plane LL. For the money mentioned, I'd consider hooking up to another battery, use a converter (24V) and using aviation lights!

There are 12V aviation lights, I have seen some avlights on ebay in RV parts.

Way on the cheaper side, I use a 2,000,000 cp portable light on the boat. That thing lights up the shore on a clear night a mile off. I don't see why it couldn't be placed in another housing and mounted on a roof. You only need one!

Looks like Rigid makes the ARB Intensity.

Another rebranding exercise from ARB... shocking. Reminds me of the ARB Engels...

Rigid huh? Well now we know. I'll wait to see them in action before I pass judgement. But I bet they're amazing.

I wonder how long the exclusive Redistribution Rights are? I'm guessing one to two years. After that we will see Rigid selling these themselves.

Regardless, if they are not dimmed, they will be blinding to oncoming traffic. The beam will be more direct into the eyes. :)
