Rear springs

I have some sag on the rear with the camper shell on. I have a set of Sway a Way torsion bars for the front and am wondering about a rear leaf recommendation that will compliment the 1.5 inches that I will get in the front from swapping out the bars.

Thanks,
Dave

I just installed toytech add a leafs to the back of my Tacoma to fix this same problem due to the weight of my wildernest. Cheap, simple to install, and so far ride just as well or better then my stock springs without the wildernest. Unfortunately they raised the back a little more than I had hoped, so I have a bit too much rake. Hopefully they will settle down and inch or two over the next couple of months. I also added billstein 5100's which might explain the better ride.

Hands down, OME Dakars. More impressive than any other AAL /rear leaf system I've ever had on any rig. With near 700 lb expo gear alone, it feels like it isn't even there. It will cure your sag problem and then some...

The cheap, but not too easy to find solution is Rancho makes an AAL that is two thin leaves per spring.

They also make a single leaf AAL, and obviously those are what most parts guys know of and try to sell. Sorry, I don't have a p/n.

I would also suggest OME Dakars, but PM Red87 and ask him about his fitment issues on his 87 hilux.

Another vote for OME

I'd second what everyone has said about Old Man Emu Dakars. I have the Dakar setup with the extra leaf in the back of my 2008 Tacoma and I'm very pleased. Their load-carrying capacity over stock is probably doubled, and they never bottom out like the stock units did. The ride is great, especially with even a modest load in the back. No sagging. They're also a great value considering everything you get. When they show up on your doorstep you'll see what I mean. Shop around for a deal. There are many deals to be had online, but beware of shipping costs. These things are heavy and if you aren't careful your good deal might turn into a not-so-good deal.

One thing about ordering OME's, be sure that you are getting the OME brand bushings. Based on what I've seen between getting front OME springs for Patch (with OME bushings!) from Cruiser Outfitters and getting OME's for my FJ60 from MAF with MAF supplied bushings there is a very real difference.

Mildly put, I'm very disappointed that MAF doesn't supply the OME bushings unless you specifically request them.
