Reasonably priced O/U .12 gauge?

PPE I'm new to this forum but I'll throw in my 2 cents. I went to South Dakota 10 years ago to hunt pheasants and mule deer. For pheasants I took my Browning Citori and Remington 870. The Citori was "cool" but after missing too many birds (sometimes needing that third shot) I got out my old 870 and missed very few. The best gun to take? The one you can shoot the best. Yes, tradition and romance directs us to choose "the double" but you will have a better time shooting your favorite gun that you are comfortable with.

Back in the day...I shot competitively with a Savage 333T which was made by Valmet of Finland. I regret ever selling that O/U.

Trap, Skeet, ducks, geese, pheasants. It did it all! You could probably find one in your price range. I think I paid $400 in 1980. I have been away from shooting for awhile but that was a great shotgun. Valmet also provided interchangeable barrels in both rifle or shotgun or a combo of both, that would work with that stock. The guy I bought it from couldn't hit the proverbial 'side of the barn" with it, yet I could never miss, so like the ruger1 said, find the one that fits you best!

Good luck!

(by the way ruger1...a Ruger #1 single shot in .270 was my go to rifle for years! Many Elk,deer, antelope, coyote, prairie dogs, etc... with only one shot, great gun!) I diverge...............

the company that imports Charles Daly shotguns is either already out of or going to be out of business very soon. Probably find some good deals on existing inventory.

True. The CD that I looked at was made in Turkey... I was stunned. Reminds me of the Springfield Armory XD's made in Croatia - nothing wrong with either but hard for me to swallow from such American icons.

A little late,...but look at the stoeger condor. I know its cheap about $350 at Bass pro. I bought one over a year ago and have put about 1500 rnds through it with no problems. Its not pretty but functional
