REI Outlet Craziness!

For a limited time through today, http://www.rei.com/outlet, is giving an addiitonal 20% off outlet clearance prices with coupon code "outlet25"

When I told my super cool wife and BFF Amy that she did not need to get me anything for the holidays she said the same went for her. Then she said "actually, get me one of those organizer things for your truck", um, Okay!

I've had my eye on these Mountainsmith Modular Haulers ever since they came out and I've even incorporated one into my new cargo area design.

The three pack usually sels for $90, REI had it for $70, then on clearance for $39 and after the current deal I picked it up for $30!

Thought I would pass it along!

I got those as a gift at X-mas 07. I don't use the big bag, but the smaller bags are handy and pack well.

I'm pretty excited to try them.
We always wind up packing at the last minute and throwing too much into a couple of duffles.
I'm hoping that since Max and Charlie are still small with miniature clothes, each one can have one bag for their clothes, and share the third for toys and such. Maybe we'll even get so good as to have each of thier bags always packed and ready with a designated set of adventure clothes!

A place for everything and everything in its place! :)

No Kidding!
I must admit, I purchased one set of bags for Amy - for my truck - and then went back and bought a second set to organize the work stuff in her car, with absolutely no intention of ever allowing the second set to migrate into my vehicle, honestly there would be no room but maybe we can test it out.

Oh, and I might have gotten a pocket knife too

With all of these 15-25% off deals at various stores, I've been tempted to spend spend spend. Oh I must resist. I did cave in at a few places though so I did my part in "stimulating" the economy.

I picked up a pair of bags just like the Mountainsmith ones for $23 each at Campmor:

I almost bought some of those through REI but the construction of them is not the same. The M/S ones use waterproof material for the individual containers, better YKK zippers and so on. I read all of the reviews before deciding.

However, I did buy two of the M/S one through E-Bags.com for a bit cheaper than REI's great price. E-Bags had 10% off of a base price of $42 but no tax and free shipping. Because I bought two using PayPal I got a $10 refund so my total cost was $65 for two, about $12 cheaper than REI.

I had those bags in my shopping cart but took them out when I couldn't figure out exactly what I'd use them for...I'm sure I'll regret this, but my intent was to just get a new backpacking tent and I ended up with that plus new trekking poles!! I had to restrain myself....
