Bored, half asleep, watching NFL games on tv today, when an ad popped up and actually got my attention. It was a slick, enticing promo for the new, super pricey (@$110,000!) GMC EV Denali.

This ultra high-trim truck, the 2024 Sierra EV Denali Edition 1, was just unveiled by GMC. They’re claiming it will have 400 miles of estimated range (?), a dual-motor setup with 754 horsepower and 785 lb-ft of torque, tow up to 9,500 pounds…and best yet, include a disappearing ‘midgate’ like the old Avalanche!

If I got this right, that clever ‘Multipro Midgate’ feature will separate the passenger compartment and the truck’s 5’11” long bed, as per usual, but opened up it will let you load cargo up to 10-feet, 10-inches long into the bed, as long as the tailgate load stop is also engaged.

Also…the Sierra EV will have 10.2 kilowatts of off-board power that can be used to power anything, including essentials at a house for up to 21 days, according to GMC. It's available with 10 outlets including 110- and 220-volt. On a DC fast charger, it can regain 100 miles in 10 minutes” * (Newsweek article)

Pretty cool yah! Pretty expensive too. Pretty popular… the first run of reservations for them Sold Out already, within about 24 hours of the release!

Remember the Dodge ad, ....fit a 16' canoe inside a van...

I understand that GM has to sell EV's, but traditionally they do not support their vehicles as long as Toyota or Jeep. I hope the battery will last a couple of decades, but this early into the technology, that is doubtful

Nice looking truck though. I will keep my Avalanche.
