Removing window tint on G500

I had some extra dark tint (film) on my driver's and front passenger's doors when I purchased the G-500.
Carefully scored the film lightly and pulled it off in strips, not easy to pull off for sure,
The glue residue was the toughest to get rid off. I used acetone soaked rags, quite a few of it, to soak the the glue with that chemical first to softened it up. Then even more acetone to work/wipe it away. Only at the very end I was able to clean the last little bit with the usual ammonia/alcohol window cleaner.
The truck even had a wide strip of that tint film across the windshield, same procedure but I had to leave a section around the rain sensor behind, so I would not "erase" the little shade-dots with the potent acetone.
Please remember to wear gloves when dealing with stuff like it.

a friend of mine did it to his g500. He had to get all new glass... I know this probably isn't what you wanted to hear, but I think it's the only way. I think it was a little over $1000 but he already had the rear glass at that price. It does look sharp seeing a 463 with on tint though. good luck.

There are a lot of information on the internet about this topic. Assuming the tinting process is basically the same for all auto glass. Here is the method I used on my Land Cruiser:
1. Spray undiluted ammonia on the coated surface
2. Put a black trash bag on top of it and have direct sunlight heat it up for 20 minutes
3. Repeat step 1 and 2
4. Use razor blade or similar tool to remove the film in large pieces if possible
5. Use fine steel wool with acetone or ammonia (I forgot) and remove remaining glue residue (don’t be afraid, the steel wool wont scratch your glass – try it in unsuspicious area first)
This is fast and hassle free. I used the same method to remove UV tinting on the windows in my house.

I agree. The MBUSA G500 has tinted glass, but to replace all of the glass is a a big waste of money, IMO. You will need all new window seals to do it right and if you don't then you risk introducing leaks into your window seals, furthermore possibly introducing rust bubbles from water + dirt formation.
