If it was 19mm there are dozens of shockers available that would fit your application, most toyota back shockers have a 19mm eye both ends and the early toyota hilux with leaf front springs has a pin at the top and bush at the bottom same as a canter you would need to just check lengths.

19 mm sounds about right and Alan should know seeing as hes got the shocks of his truck somewhere in his lounge room

I replaced my OEM shocks with some "tough dogs" from 4wd1 http://www.4wd1.com/
if you send Kirk you shock details and what your after he can probably help you out

I'm using tough dog shocks on my canter, the big adjustables, we also fit them at work and have bugger all problems with them.

Going by those sizes as Alan says front are the same as Hilux 79-on leaf front (monroe 16-1702) and rear same as alot of toyotos, mazda but with 16mm bush size.

Gabriel 63350 front
63178 rear

Boge 30-b89-0 front
30-h38-0 rear

KYB 344331 front
344327 or 444109 rear
.

You are right Alan thank-you. I did make a mistake, it is 16 mm in diameter in the rear bushings. I have updated the picture (hopefully removed the old pic. but not sure it worked. Moderator, help please ! Thanks).

Had the Fuso shocks on for 17000 miles through Alaska- terrible, terrible ride. Just put the Ranchos back on, and set on 4 the ride smoothed out considerably. Never use the Fuso shocks again!

For anyone interested, the Powerdown Adjustable T shock absorbers are available for the FG649 off the shelf, part number for the front shocks is T110M1

The Bilsteins that Doug put on my truck are still running great. I've also head really good experience with the Bilsteins on my Defender 110 so I am definitely a believer in the brand.

Hi Dave,
I have them fitted, cant say that I can notice any difference at all in the settings whilst driving however you can feel the difference by hand with them out of the truck.
The problem I have found with the ones in my previous post is they are not long enough and the shocks are topping out on rebound. [On the front]
Cheers
Nathan

Thanks Nathan, good to know, guess I'll set them to extra firm from the start and see how that goes. I've ordered some to get me back on the road, but looks like I'll need to get something else then in the future.
Ta, Dave
