Another F'in stud broke! Dude, find yourself some RW TRD 17" wheels like what my Dad has on his and some new 35's. That way the tires will be cheaper and maybe your studs will be saved from now on, I don't know that's weird... Oh and post a video of your exhaust now lol, that thing sounds like a monster truck!

At this point, I would say replace all your wheel studs. Except the ones you just got replaced. I've always made it a point to retighten my lug nuts after bringing it to a wheel shop and torque them down myself. Always to 84 ft lbs. After 11 years I've never had a sheared stud.

ttora4runner - Thanks for the comments. I was headed out to Uhaul to grab a trailer to pull my other toy to the shop...

dyogim - Well the others are replaced now. I blew those out last week. When I took it to Toyota and they replaced them they said it was due to my wheels. I don't remember exactly what the backspacing and the offset are since I bought them used when I first got the truck but I'm guessing 4.5" backspacing. The Procomp 6" lift instructions state that a wheel backspacing of 4 - 6in is required. I will be buying new rims after the upcoming deployment. The tech said due to the new wheels it places more stress on the studs. Also, the lug nuts are only catching 3-4 threads on the studs. They were able to find some skinnier lug nuts and put them on. What fun. If anyone has any recommendations on new wheels, lets hear em.

Over the holidays, I was able to install some new items

Rigid Industries Dually LED Fog Lights - I had been unimpressed with the stock fog lights on my buddies Tundra and the PIAA lights on my Dad's Dodge so started looking for something else. The Rigid Duallys are relatively cheap, well built, and have a good reputation so I figured I would give them a shot. The construction quality is top notch and they look quite heavy duty. The lens is Rigid industries polycarbonate that is "unbreakable" and the light itself puts out 1300 lumens. I have been impressed with how bright they are and even driven around with just them on. They do not replace headlights but I frequently use them when my HID converted headlights are too bright or inconsiderate (ie waiting in line to get through the security checkpoints on post, coming down the street while people are out etc).

Doug Thorley LT Headers -

I have had a set of Doug Thorely Long Tube Headers that have been sitting in my back bedroom for over a year now. I finally got around to installing them absolutely dreading it after helping Derek24 install his shorties. The install was a pain but not nearly as bad as I thought it was gonna be. It took two days with a bunch of screwing around and only actually working for about 5-6 hours each day. These could be installed in a single day if you really wanted to. After installing it we just clamped the flanges to exhaust pipe and the truck sounded like a trophy truck. It was loud and mean. I originally had a Flowmaster 10 series on the truck but the drone with the exhaust was horrible. It was impossible to have a conversation in the truck. I swapped the 10 out for my Banks straight though and am much happier. There is no drone, and it is quite civilized (considering it has long tube headers). I have also noticed a 1.5-2 MPG increase with the headers. Stepping on the throttle the truck just takes off. I had read that some people had noticed a loss in power on the low end. There is a little bit of a flat spot right around 1.75 RPM but not as bad as I though. Rolling on the throttle though you really feel it pull all the way through the higher RPMS. Seat of the pants feel is awesome. The truck just jumps and roars through the RPMs never hesitating and passing people is a breeze. When I get on the throttle I still get a huge grin. One thing to note though, these are designed to delete the first 2 cats. I have read of people installing them further down the pipe but installed as instructed, these will not pass smog tests.

Pioneer 4300 DVD

I was having issues with my SECOND stock Toyota head unit and decided it was an upgrade. After driving around in 2011 Chevy 1500 for a week, I could not believe how weak the Toyota speakers sounded in comparison. After reading online, I determined that there was really no use in upgrading speakers without upgrading the head unit. I started looking for a 7in touch screen because I wanted the install to look as stock as possible. Since Toyota offers a Nav package I felt the 7in would be the best bet. The 4300 allows for direct IPOD control as well as a DVD player built in. After a few clicks on Amazon, I was ready for the install. Unfortunately, I ordered a flat lack surround instead of the gloss black it replaced. It actually doesn't look too bad, but eventually will probably replace it sometime down the road.

What size are your tires? I think someone already mentioned the OE 17" TRD Rock Warrior wheels, I'll vote x2. Toyota and aftermarket wheels seems to be more problematic than other brands, and part of the reason I returned and have stayed with OE wheels on both my 4Runner and Tundra. If 8" wide is wide enough for you, and 17" is the right diameter, you might give them serious consideration. They are a little expensive for take-offs ($600-700) but typically inexpensive compared to a set of new aftermarket wheels, and they fit! However, your truck looks big so I'm not sure it's the right wheel for you?

Nice mods you've made, thanks for updating your thread.

17" TRD forged alloys...

X3 on the forged alloys. I have been very pleased with the TRD forged alloys. Also, the 17" tires are less than that of 18" or 20" tires. Look into these wheels, these might work for you...

Post some night op pics with the rigid lights on....

I just purchased a set of the 24w led lights from ddm tuning. Supposedly each light puts out 1700 lumen. Cost was about $110 shipped.

They should be shipped soon. After I get out of the hospital for my son. I'll install them and get some night pics.

Not sure how well this will work since I'm attempting to do this through my kindle fire. Here are some quick shots from when I got home tonight but I will try and get better this weekend. These were taken in my driveway where the rear end is about 2 feet lower than the front. The leds need to be readjusted as they are angled way too high. The hids are ddm tuning 55w 5k. The pictures do not show truley how brights these are

Well I think I found my next wheels. Ballistic off road jesters in 18x9the with 5.75 back spacing and 12mmthe offset. This should fit and only push the wheels out aproximately 1in each side. Now just debating on wrapping them in toyo mts or the new general mts. I'm
leaning toward toyo as they have some siping and I spend almost every weekend snowboarding in the winter. Furthermore my fiance will be using the truck for mountain trips when im gone.

Thanks. The bed liner has held up surprisingly well for doing it in my backyard. If I were to do it again I would make it thicker.
