Rig question...Cornbinder

Dammit Brian - tell us whether you bought it or not!!!!

I was planning on going to see it this weekend, but I think I'm going to pass on this one...

Rear 1/4 glass is broken, interior isn't what I was hoping for, though the outside is pretty straight.

Has a giant pto winch and bumper, which I'm not sure is a pro or a con..haha!

Gas mileage is a big factor, too...I'd want this rig as a fun, exploration vehicle, but I came to realization that @ 8-10-even 12mpgs would make a simple jaunt out to anza pretty ouchy on my wallet. And after researching diesel swaps, it'd take too long (like March) for me to raise the funds.

I definitely have a new appreciation for what these rigs are made of though. STOUT!

Here's mine. Photo taken in Summer of 83. It's from a slide so that's why the color's a bit off.

I id'd the photo as "69 trav" but looking at the internet I now see that by 69 the Travelall had the new "square" body style so I'm pretty sure it was a 67 or maybe a 68, whatever the last year of the "round" body style was. Transmission was a wide-ratio 4 speed with a "granny low" and 2 speed t-case. This was a 1/2 ton model with 5 lug wheels.

Yeah, definitely a 67-68 MY. Nice pic!

Do you remember what mpg's you got with that setup?

No idea but I'd guess in the 12 - 15 range. It had dual tanks, a 10 gallon on the driver's side and a 20 gallon on the passenger side.

This was with the pre-smog controlled 345 V8.
