There is a much easier method to modding the throttle body.

Pull the TB off the vehicle, remove throttle blade.
Take a Dremel and cut off the protruding "Wing" of the blade.
then file down and clean up the sharp edges off the aluminum only, not the blade.
loosely install the blade back on the TB shaft with screws started
actuate throttle blade to ensure no binding of the blade as you tighten the screws.

if you're feeling frisky you can do some clean-up with a cartridge roll and die grinder. I don't have any pics of mine, but with a KN drop-in and swapping to a fully ported TB I picked up a full second in the 1/4 mile. You will hear some additional intake noise.

Would to see pics before cutting up the throttle body parts, but sounds like it worked for you pretty well...

Anybody want to buy a lifted Astro?

We just got back from buying a new rig, absolutely love it and been wanting one for years. It popped up below book value in the exact color I wanted, had to get it and now the van is up for sale (to help pay for the new truck). Details on the new ride to follow!

You've had ample time to take pictures Terry - now post them up!

Yes, back in the club, and it's a v10. For the price I couldn't pass it up and it's going to be the cheapest method to have a rig that will fit us all in good shape that's already 4 wheel drive. My wife was obsessing about the paint on the van and when this popped up it just seemed to be the perfect tweener vehicle, bigger than the Astro, smaller than the E350 and in mint shape inside & out. Lift and tires and it's done. Fridge is already inside, looking for a place to mount the compressor, setting up dual battery tray and planning the R&M hot water shower install. We always wanted an Excursion and at $6800 we couldn't pass it up. It has 117k which for a 2000 model year is under 10k a year. We are very happy with it!
