If you don't have toys to haul what else do you like about the toyhauler models? Kingdom Camping like Treefarmer has does make a 20 foot single axel that is fairly light. How big of a box do you need?

To be safe and not destroy your LR, you would like to tow no more than about 5,200 lbs max. That would keep you at around 500-520 lbs on the hitch. I'm assuming your payload is probably something like 1,600-1,700 lbs, so a hitch weight of 500 lbs would still leave you some capacity for people/pets/cargo. Our dual axle Kingdom Caravan XL has a 21' box and is 7,800 lbs dry and 9,820 lbs max. So that model would be too big for you. The single axle Kingdom Caravan ATS is the exact size/weight you're looking for. It can be customized for work spaces. For example, instead of a dinette, we had them build a flip up bar table for us that serves as a dining table and workspace for both of us. We don't need the extra bed you get with a dinette and would rather provide our own ergonomic chairs, so that worked out great for us. The ATS is specifically built for rough roads and off grid.
