Seen a newish Outback in the parking lot at work with an RTT.

I saw an Outback in 2012 doing the Pacific Coast Highway with a Tepui Kukenam -- a bit smaller than the XL, and a bit lighter, but not by much. This user had several thousand miles on his setup with no complaints (back then RTTs were pretty rare in North America so seeing another one "in the wild" resulted in us chatting RTTs overlooking the Pacific for longer than our travelling companions probably wanted!)

Subaru does high load limits on the rails not the bars. Lots of rtt’s on outbacks. Its about a 5mpg hit at 70-75mph. Under 60mph you hardly notice a hit.
Kukenam on our Outback. Previous poster who mentioned a 5mpg hit was right. This photo was from a shakedown one nighter with just me and my 9 year old.
I used Yakima's rooftop tent mounts from their Skyrise mounted to stock crossbars. Easy to mount and lockable. I'm happy with the set-up.

We use the Yakima Landing Pad set up with round bars and have had no issues. It can easily handle the weight of my BIL and myself (~450+ lbs) for sleeping.
