Ozroamer
Wanderlust, its a sicknes
Here's a bunch of photos of my round 1 Camper Trailer. I say round 1 as I'm just starting my second 1 based on some valuable lessons learnt.
First starting at the end. The trailer has been a great success and used on some very serious expeditions. Many lessons learnt and some modifications made but I'm starting from scratch for the next one. Call me crazy !
Key points for next time
- Add more lightness !
- Sleeping arrangements are important - I hate it when kids want my bed
- Setup time is critical given we do alot of quick overnight stops

the trailer is primary based on 50x50mm Square Section with a 75mm drawbar. Landcruiser hubs, 45mm axle with 6 leaf springs (needed 7) & bilstein shocks. Chassis is excellent but i found the plate steel & checker just added too much weight for what is non structural. (next time aluminium)
Tents is excellent, however awning is fairly painful setup. The key point I must address for next time is the kids hate sleeping on camp stretchers whilst mum & dad enjoy the queen size elevated bed. Add more fairness next time
