Awesome!!!

Couple questions after reading through your thread...

How do you like the PML tranny pan?
Where did you get the vents for the hood?

Let me know if you get tired of that front bumper and want to upgrade to a Ujoint one...:ylsmoke:

The pml pan is great. The guys there are very helpful and they where local. I like the extra capacity without the huge sump hanging down.

The vents in the hood are from I believe an 80s mercury cougar or thunderbird. I pulled them from a car at a junkyard.

The bumper is nice, but it was originally built for a super duty pickup so it pushes out a bit farther than I like. I'll keep you in mind when I get time to build bumpers.

In my never ending quest for a 6" lift and 37s ive always had a problem with the tires rubbing during flexing. Especially after the test drive in rowher flats. So my answer is cut the body to make it work. Now comes the issue of making it look good. The flares for the vans dont allow for the wheelwell to be opened for clearence. I love the fiberglass front fenders, but then the rear wont match.

Heres my answer...

Dont mind the double sided tape, this is purely mock up and to see if I like it. I dont think itll be bad at all.

Just gotta figure out how to deal with the gap.

So what do you other van lovers say??

I got one yah(my wife), one nah(looks to much school bus-ish) you know who you are....

Are they flexible at all? You might have less of a school bus look if the top of the arch was a little more flat, like the factory arch...
Just a thought. I think it would work either way though...

Where did that fender flare material come from. I need to find something like that for my project.

They are flexable enough to shape and I should be able to get the conture needed. I do intend to try and keep the factory flat top to the fender openings, and follow the fender/door gap at the bottom of the fender. I just wanna make the opening bigger to clear the 37s.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B005Y0OU8E?pc_redir=1401680631&robot_redir=1 is the flare I bought.

Comes in a 25ft roll. Made of 1/4 thick flexable vinyl

Thanks for the link. That is great. I had to hack into my front fenders a bit and my tires stick out past the fenders.
I've been looking for a solution, but haven't had time to hunt for anything.

Big thanks to my dad for the advise and help with the planning and start of the storage.

What are your plans for finishing ? and do you flip this over when installed or is the bottom of unit a sub floor ?

The way its pictured is how it sits on the rear floor of the van. The 3/4 sanded fir is the structure. It will get a top which will be a bed platform.

Its got 2 40x15x13 area for 2 8gal action packer per side and a center portion for whatever else. Might be built as a drawer, but not sure. In front of that area is space for a 23 gal water tank pump and plumbing.

Above the water tank are will be a seat that will fold out and complete the sleeping area. This is acomplished with futon hinges. I have a 4yr old son so seating in the back is a must and I dont want him sitting sideways during travel.

It will be bolted using the existing seat bolts in the rear.
