RSB's Radiant Red Tacoma build

This is a solid very well thought out build. It is nice to see you wheel it too!! :ylsmoke:

Your truck is soooo clean on the top side. Have you considered POR15'ing the whole undercarriage. You have a lot of light surface rust on the chassis. POR15 would really clean that up, make it look nice as well as protect it.

*edit: not sure that is rust, maybe red dirt? POR15 is still a good idea!

Betcha a dollar it's clay. Ryan lives in Oklahoma, which is, coincidentally enough, also known as "Red Dirt Country" for both its relevance to the Native American history and culture, and oddly, its [ahem] red dirt.

:D

I think many of these pics were shot just following a Central Overland trip into the Ozarks. I know my truck is often stained red after these trips, too. Just a byproduct of the area.

All joking aside, POR-15 is always a good idea. Will be hitting up my truck this year!

Thanks, Ian. Yep, just as Wes said. :)

I agree. A coat of POR15 would be a good idea—especially with the road conditions out here in Oklahoma during the winter.

I still really like your ARB LED light mod. I plan to do that to the ARB bar on my Cruiser!

Everytime I see this thread pop up I find it funny that you live down the street from me. I should be getting my 2012 4Runner SR5 4x4 in January, but those CPO's really have me looking at a used one too. I have twins on the way so a couple thousand is still a decent amount of money in my eyes.

Haha sweet. Ya, they're much brighter than the ones that come with the ARB for sure.

I hear ya! Haha. Sadly though, it looks like I'm going to have to sell the whole thing anyway. :(

Sad, sad news to announce today. Despite my greatest efforts to find a way around this, unfortunately, it looks like I have to sell my truck. :(

I've had so much time invested in this project, it's hard to not get emotional about it! Thank-you everyone for your comments and constructive feedback along the way. It's been a great ride and a truly rewarding experience for me. I look forward to my next build—whatever that might be.

I really don't want to do this, but it's what I have to do.

I feel so bad for you Ryan. Your build really reflects attention to detail and quality craftsmanship - you put your heart and soul into this project.

Good luck selling it -- and to any potential purchasers you'll be getting a truck far beyond the value listed as a selling price.

Sorry to hear you have to sell. This has been one of my favorite builds to watch on here. Best of luck with school and you can always start again with a different truck one day.

Thanks guys, really. There's so much more I want to do, but know there will be another opportunity someday. I'm very proud of how well it turned out overall. :)
