RTIC Coolers

I really don't think they know when their shipments are arriving so it leads to some early deliveries and some delayed orders. Mine was delayed bit but I was really just buying one to add to my quiver so no big deal.

Enjoy your cooler,

Nate

It's here!

Order placed Sunday, shipped on Monday, and delivered today (Wednesday).:luxhello:

Really heavy, and built like a tank. This thing will probably outlast me.

Field report

RTIC 45qt tan. Took it to the beach Saturday a week ago ( temp in the 90's), and the drinks were still frosty cold Tuesday night.(all ice gone but water freezing cold)

When it's full, it's a bear to haul any distance by yourself. Latches could be tighter, and lid won't stay up...maybe after it is used more.

Ive noticed the 45 is a common size, for around + $25 you can get the 65. Why not go big? Seems like a better deal.

Hope to order one soon, the Coleman extreme just isn't cutting it anymore. I'll be using it for camping etc

Have you picked one up? They are quite heavy and if size isn't what's needed there's no sense to getting the larger one.

Loaded it with 2 bags on Friday afternoon and it sat in my heated camper (~68 degrees) drove 350 miles on and off-road till Monday afternoon when I took this picture. I also drained the water after I took this picture and set it on the floor of my (non heated now)camper with the lid open. I checked it Tuesday night and there were cubes of ice still in it.

I'm impressed and think it was $175 well spent.

Noticed the basket.....Anyone purchase the divide or basket? Do you find it useful?

And how do you secure it from theft?

I like the basket to put meat, eggs, etc. in. Mine is the 45, and really doesn't hold as much as you think it would. I think if I had more perishables (if I was going on a longer trip), maybe the divider would work better for keeping food separate from drinks. I just wouldn't be able to load as much beer in at one time, it would be more take three out, load three in. There are tie down spots (2 inch holes cut for straps) that you could maybe string a thin cable through and lock it to something. Mine lives in the camper so I don't lock it up. My fridge never worked in my camper and I couldn't get parts for it so I took it out and put in a sliding drawer that the cooler sits on.

Not a Rtic owner but I've found the basket to be very useful in my Ozark Trails 73 and have actually added a second one for longer trips.
