RTT on roof of BJ42 or CDN M101?

Trying to figure out where I should mount my Eezi 1400. Pros and Cons of either BJ42 roof or on top of CDN M101 trailer? If I go on top of trailer then I will put a roof rack on top of the BJ42 which will make for a little difficulty loading the rack but packaging up the Eezi on top of the trailer will be easy, but then if I switch these options its the same difficulty vice versa?

The best solution would be to have it on the 101 and not have a roof rack on the vehicle.

Roof racks dramatically decrease your mpg, where as a trailer and tent produce far less drag and the decrease in mpg is much smaller.

Isn't there enough cargo room in the 101 that you don't need roof rack storage on top of the vehicle?

Is there a way to do a quick disconnect mount, so that you could move it from one to the other? That way if you could set up the trailer as 'base camp' and explore in the '42, or you could take multi-day trips in areas where you didn't want to tow the trailer.

Just a thought from someone who doesn't own a '42, 101, or rtt, so take it for what it's worth... :O

I actually thought about the disconnect idea which is maybe what I might go with for then I can have better MPG going to and from and then I can mount it back on the roof of the BJ42 when at camp so I can attach the Eezi shower skirt? the trailer has a fair amount of room so I should be fine without a roof rack for now even though I seem to be aquiring alot of camping stuff so space is looking scarce shortly? Thanks all

my rtt is mounted to my cdn 101 via a yakima highrise roof rack with rain gutters mounted on the trailer it works well and is easy enough to get into

Thule has a track system that you may be able to attach to the rail of the 101.

The towers can be fast disconnect. If you had the same system of the vehicle it would be an easy swap.
