Those bars are looking good Plannerman. I also like the ones on the red 1st gen taco. I wanted something like that before the awesomeness of the flippac.

Just thought I would throw this up. Just finished welding it, still needs to get cleaned and painted up. Very simple design however it's very sturdy. With about 300 lbs. standing on top of it jumping around and back and forth it never budged, the truck was rocking all over the place though. lol

I will post up more pictures once the customer comes to install and we get the tent on.

Correct. Per the customers request the back legs extend down and bolt in where the rear tie down loops are.

Got another pic of what it looks like in the bed? Or maybe just point me to one?

I have to redo my rack and I am looking for ideas.

Not as of right now. It's back off the truck and in the shop at the moment. They'll be more pics when we mount it up on the customers truck. The nice thing about the way it's built is it require no cutting, drilling, or any other modifications to the truck so it is totally reversible. Can be taken off at any time.

Sweet, the perfect height. Is that particular rack steel or alum? And what is the approx. weight? Thanks.

It's steel. I'll have to see if I can manage to weigh it. It's really not all that heavy though.

Also as far as the height, the stowed tent should sit about even with the top of my factory roof rack. We were trying to keep it low for fuel economy's sake but not so low that you couldn't get into the bed to access stuff.

I weighted it today and looks like it's right at 50lbs. It's probably a bit overkill for just holding a tent but it never hurts to build for a little extra. :D

Well this one is constructed of 1.75" x .120 wall DOM tubing. It's some pretty stout stuff so I doubt it will give any trouble as far as weight capacity.
