rtt/ pop up camper/small trailer

Ok with much discussion my wife and I are ready to make some changes.

We currently live in 27' of pull behind. With my daughter spending more time with us we bought a 5th wheel with more room. The plan was to use out 27' as a camp trailer I had taken it places before but this leaves you a base came set up and takes away a bunch of places we go.

Also we move with my wifes work. Her truck she loves is a long bed Chevy 1/2 ton with a 4.8 so it will not tow a 27' trailer. When we move we have to make it in one trip.

We had been using a tent or the back of the truck and a topper. With quads and a 4 year old her things and frank our pug we need some thing different.

Options
Rtt is nice we can mount it on either truck or a trailer.
To
Pop up camper fits on either truck

Phone died mid thought.

Or a smaller trailer
The rtt is nice and easy but will it sleep 3 for years to come.

The pop up camper makes sence but it has to be under 7' to fit both trucks.

Here is my opinion in my limited experience with RTT. I would NOT want to live in a RTT. No bath, water facilities, tv etc. Plus everytime you want to do something you have to either go up or down the ladder. I had a large CVT RTT and sold it because it was too cumbersome to put up and take down by myself. I'm re-thinking the RTT and am probably going to go with a hard top/bottom and soft sided RTT. I see you have a super duty. I would look at getting a slide in, downsize the trailer, or anything else before I would commit to living in a RTT.

I think a pop up trailer is going to be your best alternative.

I've gone from tent to a pop up trailer to a Class C RV, to a bumper dragger trailer, currently have a pop up camper in my truck. Pop up trailer was the easiest, cheapest, most room and I didn't have to break camp to get to the store when needed. Most any vehicle with a tow hitch can pull a reasonable sized pop up trailer.

This will not be for us to live in. The use would be just a few days and one 10 day trip a year.

We are leaning to a smaller tent trailer. We where able to look at a few today side by side. Size for price its a much better deal and still leaves the truck open for toys tool and wood.
