Do you have a Ford ranger or Maverick with a pop-up shell? Need Advice

These are intriguing, they don't show them being for a Ranger but I wonder if they could make something or if something could be adapted.

Geeze. I should get this just to help get the topper on and off my truck at will, alone. Back it up between 4 8x8's that have chains and 2x4's with eye-bolts...

I can sort of understand the whole HOA no RV's thing but those minimal pop ups are closer to a topper than an RV or camper. I can't imagine anyone would have a "real" problem with it. I'd probably just do it and if it turned into a kerfuffle, I'd paint my house purple.
You gotta get the HOA board to approve paint colors- fence selections, etc. don’t forget the walkers to inspect and make sure your garbage can is never visible from the road. It’s a fine line, HOA does have a place. Ours was disbanded about 15 years back and the guy on the corner has a bbq food truck and what appears to be cousin eddies rv parked in his side yard so I do get it a bit…

There are a lot of popup campers available. You may not find one for a newer model Ranger that has the overhang over the cab so you will have a long enough bed for comfortable sleeping. You may need to go with a Maverick because they are lower. It might be possible with a base 2WD Ranger.

Online I found online the base Ranger is under 75" maximum height and the Maverick is under 70" maximum. The Maverick bed length is only 4.5" while the Ranger bed length is 5'.

Hiatus and Oro Design have hard side pop ups and there are many more soft side popups. You just need to do an internet search and find what you like. Ask them how much the maximum camper height is above the cab in its down position.
