I am running 16x8 and a 33" tire, I am not sure what Steve had to do to fit that specifically, but looks like you might have room. Did you test it yet? I would call Steve and ask him his opinion on the best way to go about it. I know guys have done spring overs with other trailers and that has achieved the lift but I wonder if Steve has a better option for you. curious to hear his perspective.

Using a 16X8 would give me more sidewall, which is good. Your trailer looks great with the 33" tires.

This is my weekend project. Trying to secure wheels and tires now.

Has anyone added a swing-away tire rack on the rear of their Ruger trailer? If not, where do you put your spare?

I changed the 5 lug hubs to 6 lug and got rims to match my truck

Change of plans..

After a day of research, my plan is to put the same 37x12.5x17 (with matching wheels) on the Ruger. Although the cost is about the same for either option, I will only need one spare for the entire rig.

Has anyone ran 37's on a Ruger? I will attempt a test fit this weekend after lifting the tub.

Wheels on...

After a lot of measurements and discussions, we determined the safe option was 33's.

Now it's off to paint and decide on a spare tire carrier.

Please show pics of your spare tire set-up.

Hi Lost-Adventurer.....how long have you had your Ruger trailer for? Reason I ask is I'm curious to the length of time before the powder coating on the frame started to rust? Were the Roto Pax water can mounts & propane tank a factory install or was it a DIY? If so can you provide more details. Nice trailer by the way. Really like the Ruger trailer design and seems like a excellent value.

Good eye Runt, I am wondering the same thing. I hate rust so much!

If there is a weak spot on my Ruger trailer it's rust. My trailer is stored in a garage. The entire trailer is about to go in for paint or a Line-X protective coating in black. The trailer is 3 years old, it began rusting in year two. It should not be rusting.

The rotopax and propane tank are DIY with OEM mounts. The propane tank mount is from Overland Trailers http://store.adventuretrailers.com/products/5-lb.-Propane-Cylinder-Bracket..html

My next project is a tongue box to hold my ARB fridge and Arkpak battery pack. It will have a door on each side with a slide for each. I'm hoping to get the tongue box before the Overland Expo.

Hmmmm.....was this trailer made before they started zinc priming there powder coating process I wonder? However the rust looks like its from rock chips which would happen on those points of impact no matter what. Big tires love to throw rocks. Any way they are nice trailers.....your nose box is a great idea!
