man that's the nicest DC bumper I've seen. will you sell the plans for it so I can have someone local make it? any way to incorporate a winch?
thank you!! it took some time to plan it out right.. but i sorta just had an idea of what i wanted and went for it.. cutti g up the stock bumper was really hard for me.. just cause it was in perfect shape.
im not really sure there are plans for it.. but i could totally show you how i built it.. it was really simple. its all bolt on.. and i bet you. could weasel a winch in there. i wanted simple and sleak... problem with toyotas is the front bumper once pulled off is very very large.. which makes ugly after market bumpers.. so what i did is cut the front stock bumper in half.. which eliminates the structure of the plastic, so that is why you see the bumper washers. those are tied into a substructure i made just for holding that part on.. the rest is tied into the frame horns and is really all super basic. if your local to california i could definitely make one for you. im not bi on shipping. and i only design if the truck is here.

Well i havent done much in the way of shop stuff latley! my wife really wanted to do a Baja dual sport trip, so i couldn't argue with that really! weekend before she did the babes ride out rally down in Joshua tree, soo all i have been doing is preparing personal toys... that was a cool trip for her and her sisters, no guys so they had to do thier own work and stuff.

Once they got home, me and my wife started prepping for ! this was a quick trip, my friend towed the bikes to SD and we drove across the boarder, stayed in Puerto Noeavo, dropped the bikes then road to Mikes Sky Ranch via dirt/pavement. Since the baja 1000 was two weeks later we really payed attention to course routes and made sure we didn't go against prerunning traffic. From mikes we dropped down the back side to El Coyotes for lunch, then off to Coyote Cals for dinner, a massage, and some tequila. From Coyote Cals we road south on portions of this years 1000 course and dropped into Colonet, and then back to Ensenada for some much needed margaritas and tacos! such a fun trip over all!! we only did about 430miles, but to do that with my wife was just down right amazing! my good friend, my father in law and my wife, made a great group of people to ride with! my wife is a relative newbie but did an amazing job! first time i laid down that many miles on my "big" bike which is a 990 adventure ... i honestly don't think ill ride anything else ever from this point onwards.

Nice looking projects!

Curious about the size of tires and wheels you are running on the Tundra now? They look different the silver SCS wheels in the earlier pictures?

yeah i am running the same tires just on the other scs wheels.. pretty sure they are the same size and demension wheels. id have to ask Vin.. they are 17s.. tired are 285/65? id have to go look everything else i own has at least 35s, i need new tires soon. my wife wanted black wheels, i really regret selling those 6s, still my favorite scs wheel!

Not sure how I missed your reply for 2 months. But man I wish I was local to California bc I would be all over you making new one. Plus you have way better wheeling scenery. I'm in Houston TX. Not much in the terms of wheeling or scenery within 3-4 hours.

How hard was the icon rebuild? I have a set of Donahoe Racing that are due.

BTF fabrication. They are a small mom and pop shop out of socal. I have worked with him on other LT builds, and i really like his stuff, and its a good price point.
http://www.btf-fab.com/tundra.html

I got the bolt on kit so i can keep 4wd. it comes with shocks, extended axles. I have worked with Brandon and his Brother Travis, before on a few RANGER builds and i just really like working with them. i tend to support the small companies, instead of say camburg, or TC...had i come across a used front end i probably would have gone with that, but This will be pretty much the first 4wd tundra front end he has on the market, so i want to showcase it a bit for him if need be.

Who's LT did you get for the Tundra? Those welds are beautiful.

Super clean install on that RCSB Tacoma.

Excited to see how the LT kit works out for you. I'd love LT on my Tundy. What coilovers did your kit come with? What size tires are you planning to run? Glass front fender?

Yes, kit comes with a shortbody 8in king, that fits in stock location, i will be building strut tower brace (if-you-will) after so those dont fold on them selves. Kit is supposed to produce around 14in of travel. I will be running either mcneil, or hanneman front glass..not sure yet..still on the fence about that.
as far as tires, most likey a step up from what i have now...its like a 275 or 285...cant remember.. but im not a large tire fan...Tundra will be made for just all around desert/camping trips.. little bit of everything..
