Samsung announces another version of its popular Galaxy tablet line. With built-in GPS, this new model would make a good choice for an in-vehicle navigation system.

The Galaxy Tab3 Lite (7.0 inch screen) has specs that put it firmly in early 2012. Here's a quick rundown:
-- 1.2 Ghz quad core processor
-- Android 4.2 plus Samsung TouchWiz interface
-- 1 GB RAM
-- 8 GB storage
-- slot for micro SD card, up to 32 GB
-- 2 MP rear camera , no front camera
-- GPS/GLONASS receiver
-- 3600 mAh battery
-- dimensions 193 x 93 x 10 mm
-- weight 310 g

The Galaxy Tab3 Lite (7.0) will be available with WiFi only, or with WiFi plus 3G cellular service.

The Galaxy Tab with seven inch screen has evolved over the years
2010 - Original Galaxy Tab, 1 GHz processor, seven inch screen, Android 2.2
2011 - Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus, 1.2 GHz processor, improved screen, Android 3.2
2012 - Galaxy Tab 2, 1 GHz dual core processor, Android 4.0
2013 - Galaxy Tab 3 (7.0), 1.2 GHz dual core processor, Android 4.1

At present, the Galaxy Tab 3 (7.0) is widely available for $170. I expect the new Lite WiFi model will cost about $150.

I just picked up the samsung G3 10" at costco I will be using it for nav as well... hopefully I made a good choice.

Running a Note8 with Oziexplorer and full HEMA mapping here, mounted with a RAM mount, great fully offline set-up.
