Jonas, if you get to the Midwest of the USA, look me up, we're in northern Wisconsin now, since April. Just washed the Baja dirt off of our Saurer today! My wife speaks fluent German, and I speak fluent beer!

i have a little uptdate
my idee is to put an wood stove in the truck and also a modern diesel stove
i have draw the cad from the woodstove on my computer and cut out the parts by a laser shop
then i weld it together
the next step was to put ne tires on it !
a problem was the truck has original 9.00 x 20" tires on it
it dont have alot of tires for this 20 inch wheel to buy
the original wheel are "Trilex" Wheel
this wheels are disassemble in 3 pieces ... its very easy to disassemble but 20 inch is not a good size for tires from today
i have found 22.5 inch wheels for my truck and i put alittle bit biger tires on it
after i dismountet the old tires i saw that the front wheelbearen leaks a little bit oil
i change the seal bevor i put the new tires on it
i will show a few pictures from the front hub
it will show why i love this truck !
all the important srews on this truck ar safty wired like a airplaine !
this will show the quality from this truck!
the truck looks better and better now !
i like the bigger tires
it was time for the first test drive and it was great ! this thing dont have alot of power but it drives like a new car
it has power steering, air powered clutch and gear switching
and its drive straight on the highway , you dont need to adjust the direction all the time like an old car or truck

hi folks !
after the first roadtrip i had realized that thing is realy loud inside
the cabin has absolud no insulatet ... nothing
our plan is to travel a few years with this thing and its realy important to insulate the cabin because to reduce the noise
at the driverside it has a little bit rust and i replaced the floor pannel with new stainless steel panels
after i removed the old floor pannels i noticed it has alot of space under the cabin on both sides
and i thought that is the perfect place for my batteries !
the old place from the batteries i would needet for the second fuel tank that i mounted
so i put the batteries under the floor but it was more work as i thought

Do you have no insulation inside between the camper skeleton frame and the internal wall sheets? You may get lines of condensation where the metal sections butt up on the internal surface, and then mold perhaps? A second insulation layer with joins in different places would stop that?

yea i dont have insulation between the skeleton frame and the wood walls
but thes wood are special mdf plates call (tricoja) its absolut waterproof and the manufacturer get 50 year of warranty for that
you can put these plate in the water and they dont want damage
and the skeleton are stainless steel and i think thats also not a problem of condensation
i will see in the future how it works
heidiurs where are you live in australia ? when we are there we will visit you by the way your berna was realy cool ! i have all berna signs for my saurer an i will convert my saurer to a berna ;-)
yes its a 1955 desoto hemi for my hot rod project !

now i have 100 gallons on the left side and 45 gallons on the right side
i have saw a vice on a old trucks frontbumper and i thought that is a good idee for mine truck and here it is a vice on my frontbumper
in the same collor as the truck of course ?

Looking good! Nice to hear from you again on your Saurer truck. We’re in the last round of preparations on our 6dm. 25l of new engine oil, 20l of new transmission oil! Expensive! Getting ready for six months in Baja. Have or folding boat attached to the side. But can’t find the correct size metal cabinet for the back to haul the seats. Too deep, and it will hit our bicycles. Still looking! Dave
