Blackwater

Im getting old! :(
Rhymes with "Lock"

Amazing how this has helped (really) curb the number of tailgaters. Once they see the sticker, I see them back off. Violent crime is a problem here so I guess no one wants to chance it. I know I don't!

Agreed, but just be careful. Something one of my old concealed carry instructor's mentioned; with decals like that criminals may be on the look out as far as breaking in to try and get a weapon. Take that for what its worth...

Back on topic, I love the rig.:beer:

Rear lens LED's

Another small mod - purchased replacement LED's from superbrightleds.com for the reverse, running and brake lights. The reverse are very bright and will not only allow better visibility from the drivers seat, but will also clearly alert folks that I am backing up. The side markers are three times as bright as factory!

The running lights are noticeably brighter and the brake lights scream your intentions. While not cheap, it's a safety mod that enhances visibility, eliminates the worry of burning out a critical bulb, and greatly reduces load on the electrical system.

Right side done, left side factory:

Factory bulbs are down right dim and yellow:

Some stuff in, some yet to go!

Big day for the Cruiser - got a SMOKING deal on two Rocky Mountain Sheep Skin seat covers - two for the price of one and they installed it! First good deal I've gotten in alaska... Just in time for the snow we are getting :Wow1:

Then it was the oil pan heater. Can't find one with the sticky back ready to install, so I had to get some hi-temp silicon. I 'borrowed' the magnets from the power steering, oil pan, and tranny pan to hold this in place while the glue dries. Hope these heaters actually work. I remain dubious...
Not pretty, but function:

Then it was the Pesky Heater Hose by-pass. Turned out to be a pretty simple job really. Also unnecessary as the PHH had already been replaced by the PO when the head gasket was done. Oh well, this is done now and any future attention will be easily rendered. Get your kit here!

I was trying to show my wife your lexus (because I'm looking at one that is the same color scheme, but with a few more miles), She doesn't really care for the cruiser, but really wants your dog.

Nice additions! We are actually switching over our PHH kit to the bypass from AJIK Overland Exchange too.

Landtank maf

After casting about and reading nothing but favorable reviews, I cast the die and ordered the LANDTANK MAF housing from ajikoverlandexchange.com I also ordered a brand new sensor, as many had experienced problems with used units. Since the sensor is the business end of the mod, new seemed a smart move.

As you can see from the photo below, the LandTank housing (bottom) offers much greater airflow and the newer design sensor more accurately and more quickly sends info to the ECU.

The installations was 10 minutes. Super easy and painless. Instructions were right on with great pictures to illustrate the parts and intents.

I put it on earlier and have had it on for all of todays driving - freeway and city. Having just done it the differences are striking. IMMEDIATE ignition, even cold. Very smooth idle - reminds me of the old Lexus commercial with the champagne glasses pyramided on top of a running motor. The stumble is, thus far, instantly gone. Take off is smooth and powerful and the throttle is quite responsive compared to the factory setup.

After a day of driving, here she is at idle:

Time always tells. So far the mod is providing that instant gratification we are all after.

AJIKOVERLAND is worth a look. Josh is top shelf, engaged, and interested in earning your money. I can't believe I ordered this Friday and it showed up today, in Alaska without paying a premium above normal, included shipping. I have gotten a couple of things from them and the experiences have always been the same - pleasant.

Your wife, obviously, has exceptional taste.

I will be paying close attention to your MAF mod. Please keep us updated. I'm very interested in doing this mod.

After a little more than 300 miles on the new MAF - I can say that it is certainly a great mod. The drivability of the rig is so much nicer now. The idle is smooth for sure, and there is a perceptible increase in power across the normal RPM range. Throttle response is vastly improved and the throttle body is free to do 100% of it's job regulating air volume and velocity unencumbered by a cork upstream. This last tank of normal, predictable driving yielded a 25 mile increase. This, with me enjoying a bit more power found hiding in the thin peddle. So far, I'm super pleased with the results and would say that it is certainly worth the investment.
