I had a company truck that did the same thing. What i did was go to the junk yard and cut off another seat belt buckle (the male end) and stuck it in my seat belt buckle and now the truck thinks the seat belt is buckled

or sometimes there is 2 wires leading to the buckle...just cut em and connect them together

Seat belt chime
1. Turn the ignition switch on (without starting car)
2. Press the ODO/TRIP switch until the odometer displays "ODO"
3. Turn the ignition switch off
4. Turn the ignition switch on
5. Press ODO/TRIP switch immediately (within 6 seconds after turning the power switch ON) and hold it down for 10 seconds or more.
6. Continue holding the ODO/TRIP switch and fasten the front passenger's seat belt.
7. Check that the odometer displays either "b-on" or "b-off" (it will be "b-on")
8. Press the ODO/TRIP button to change the display to "b-off".
9. Turn the ignition switch off.
10. Turn the ignition switch on while depressing the brake pedal.
11. Check that no buzzer sounds when setting on the front passenger seat.

I havent tried it myself even though the little lady keeps begging me. I just know if I do turn it off she will never wear the belt. I am not sure if it is the same for the tacoma but they probably are using the same systems. No harm in giving it a try. Let me know if this does work.

With my 07 Tundra I tore the entire dash apart and behing the speedometer is a silver buzzer that is attached to the circuit board. Just grabbed it with a pair of channel locks and twisted. No more buzzer. The reason I did this is because my dog like to sit on the seat and/or center console, I gets annoying very quickly. I do catch myself not buckled up until after a few miles though. I recommend trying Odometer button trick though.

that i s what i was looking for. thank you makedonas1. i always wear my seat belt but i short jaunts up the dirt road are annoying. thanks again
