Shocks, Bags or Springs? Making it level

Yep. all this about articulation must be from the RAWK KRAWLER crowd. Mine flexs fine aired down. Put air in and put the gear in my jeep and pop up camper and I still don't look like a bro dozer. If they don't work for you because you need 20 " of up travel to get to the next boulder on your 3 mile all day trip then no, they are NOT for you. If you want to pack your rig full, not look like a bro dozer, and keep control of your rig on and off road, air bags are viable.

:clapping: Congrats man. I haven't seen a finer example of the Leet attitude in quite a while. Lord knows there's only one way to enjoy oneself when leaving the pavement and we all know it has to contain -dition in the title somewhere. I had to relearn that though 'cause when I was a kid we just called it a road trip with some camping. Going on an Expedition sure sounds fancier though, gotta admit.

Hey, I am not saying anything about ditions.....I am saying that RAWK KRAWLIN, and bouncing around all day in one pile of rocks airbags are not for you. Christ people and their thin skin. :coffee:

Tires don't work very well with no air either but a lot of people still use them.

You're right. I'm probably tainted by old school air shocks that always leaked and were never balanced from one side to the other. If they were hooked up separate, they were never equal. If you hooked both into a single line they would transfer air from one to the other as you went around a corner. Kind of like an opposite anti-swaybar. You could never get them to stay where you wanted.

I understand the confusion. Air shocks used to be everywhere but that's a frightening thought when you consider all your weight is now fully suspended on a couple 1/2 bolts.
Airbags are quite a different animal.
They've earned a good reputation for a reason. Semi trucks/trailers have been using them for what...40-50 years now?
High end cars (including the tesla) have gone to air for its positive traits.
I wish I could figure a legitimate, functional, and cost effective way to use bags in something that actually does flex deep for rocks. I'm sure it's possible...just not sure the average wallet could make it happen. Lord knows mine cant. Haha

The problem with bags and flex is the longer the bellows the less weight it holds. Daystar cradles are the closest thing you'll get to a solution, and it won't work for a bag-only setup, but it does work well for helper bags.

Nice underdrive....JACKWAGON! Love it.

Back to topic, For Jeeps, and it may be more than JKs but I know for JK there is a full blown air system. Nets you 6" of lift, Full flex and you can adjust up and down for what your doing. Its really cool, but for the life of me I cannot remember the name.
