Looking for that thing i just had in my hand...
My opinion is that the manual trans behind the 4 cylinder is garbage, the one behind the 6 is nearly indestructible but the synchros do seem to need adjustment every 100k or so. All the Auto's are stout.

Well, I'm pushing 300ftlbs of torque through a km142 with 160K miles on it rolling on 235/85/16's and it's happy as a witch in a broom factory, not garbage in my book. :D

soon 5th gear it break apart and take out the rest of the may aswell be plastic gears that make up the km145 and leave you to drive home with only 4th gear. Good luck with that tranny i'd ditch it for anything else you can make work behind that cool guy motor.

cool guy motor?

anyway, I've got a KM145 sitting in my garage that's got 220K hard off/on road miles that came out of the truck because it started to whine and I've run KM132's behind 4g63's in rwd swaps and they handled it like a champ. I have put decent power through a number of these things for extended periods and have had great experiences with them, I don't know why some people keep saying they are glass... they aren't, they are pretty darn tough. When/ If one grenades on me I'll let you know.
