My 1990 k5, my dads 1971 custom K30, and my grandpas (originally his moms) 1978 K20
My k5 is 25 years old. which is 4 years older than i am! I have changed pretty much everything on it...
added power leather heated seats out of an 04 silverado
then added the motor (with some goodies) and transition from an 04 tahoe
then added some LED light bars, dana 44 front, 14 bolt full float rear, SYE in the transfer case, custom bumpers, and a 4" lift. this was my daily driver for about 2 years. with the new motor i averaged about 15 mpg
My dads 1971 custom K30
This one had a gm performance parts 454 H.O. swapped into it. then my dad and i got a sm465 rebuilt and installed and then sticked the np205 and installed that as well. it also has a dana 60 in front with cross over steering and a 14 bolt full float in the rear with disc brakes. also upgraded to hydro boost breaks, 6" alcan front leafs, stripped the truck to the frame, then stripped the frame and painted it with POR15, cut off all the rivets and replaces with grade 8 hardware. stripped the bottom of the cab and bed and coated with POR15 and new grade 8 hardware. We still need to finish hooking up the AC in the cab, and add some sort of overdrive unit.
My grandpas 1978 K20
It had a healthy crate 350 put into it along with a TH350 trans and a np203 with a part time kit installed into it. it also has a gear vender over drive unit behind the transfer case. this one also has a dana 44 front and a 14 bolt full float rear. the rear flat bed is all aluminum and has a 50 gallon auxiliary fuel cell on it that is plumbed directly to the motor. when you flip a switch in the cab it switches from the original 21 gallon tank to the aux. tank. this truck has a 2" lift on it. my grandpa does a lot of long distance driving and between the fuel cell and gear venders he can go about 1200 miles between fill ups!
