I guess I fall into the 18+ as of the new year. I have a 2001 Ford Excursion 7.3L that, as of today, has 254,000k on the clock. I bought it almost exactly 2 years ago at 235k for $7,500 and did a LOT of maintenance just to get it reliable since purchase.
Maintenance #1:
-Replaced leaky turbo pedestal and HPOP oil seals, bellowed up-pipes.
While I'matits:
-Turbo and pedestal EBPV delete (new exh housing/pedestal, not a hodge-podge job).
-DP Tuner
-Riffraff OCR
-IAH delete
-All the gauges
-4" Diamondeye straight exhaust
Maintenance #2:
-All new brake calipers, hoses, pads, rotors
Maintenance #3:
-Front hubs, Warne manual hubs, bearings, seals, ball joints, stub shafts, tie rods.
While I'matits:
-Front X code springs, 2.8" leaf packs, spring shackles, dual shock mounts, Bilstein 5100 dual shocks and steering stabilizer.
-Rear "modded" B codes with 4" blocks, new U-bolts all around, 20x9 XD 828 Delta wheels with 35x12.50 Mastercraft Courser tires.
Maintenance #4 (Unfortunately while in the WY mountains hours away from civilization):
-Front driveshaft (u-joints were so seized it didn't justify labor/cost).
Other mods:
-Spyder projector headlights with LED low beams
-LED rear backups lights
-Absalute Diesel Performance front winch bumper with LED pod lights
-Badlands 12k winch with 100ft synthetic rope and Smittybilt thimble
-Blue Lake Off-Road rear bumper & tire/jerry can carrier with fold-down table.
-Homemade roof rack
-Tepui Autana 3P tent
In the works:
-Roof mounted pressurized solar shower
-Overland-style kitchen sink/counter top that connects to jerry can holder swing-out.
-Solar powered 12v system independent of vehicle batteries
