Hey Rex. Thanks for the welcome. You and I share the dubious honor of being the only two guys on that CK run to need the help of a winch when we stuck our tacos (mine was sitting on both frame rails in those large boulders). Haha. We also tried our luck on the tougher optional flexy spots that a lot of guys with similar rigs drove around. So I guess we took some extra chances that day.
I added a set of rear coil springs and axle relocation plates on mine for another 2 3/8-inches of lift in the rear and some extra expedition gear load carrying capacity since that run. Very happy with that mod. Check it out...
Still need to get into a set of 255 85's though, once these 265 75's wear out. Also took the wife out for a week of wheeling and camping in southern AZ last week, which was a ton-of-fun!
Yeah, I am learning a lot over at TTORA, and have met some great people. After lurking here at the portal for a while I realized that the way I build and use my rig for extended road trips cross-country into Mexico and all (with wheeling and lots of overnight camping) was a little more like you guys over here at the portal. Rock crawling with TTORA is tons of fun and I'll keep at it, but I am glad to have found this group with more of an expedition flair!
Cheers!
