My 85 mallcrawler. Too many mods to list, but the 224.1 crawl ratio can be nice. Due to the armor, only got one quarter sized dent on the flop-tire lug caught the lip on the front fender.

Is that a bobbed pu or 4Runner? I saw a 1st gen a while back that I absolutely loved. Looked simlar to the Warthog from Slee.

Thanks! Up close you can tell it wasn't done by a professional but it gets the job done. I built mine overnight, hurrying to get ready for a trip, and kind of threw it together. I'm going to built another one this year and put more thought and effort into it.

i know what thats like. did that myself with my bumper so i would have recovery points and my winch on for a trip. hell...if it works, who cares.

one day i do wanna rebuild it though. build something nicer.

Mine is a 12" bobbed bed pickup. And I had the name Tumbleweed since I was 17, had a cross country motorcycle race and crashed into a hidden ditch that was 3' deep in Tumbleweeds. Pulled stickers out for months.

The one above is a 4Runner (as you knew) and Tumbleweed's is a P/U. You can tell because of the plastic clading on the B pillar. 4Runners have that wide black plastic piece that matches up to the top, and the PU's have a smaller piece with the body showing. Hard to tell them appart from a distance eh. That's just a little trick to determine what it is/was. Love both of those bob jobs.

I wish there was a good way to bob the top along with the bed. I hate it when they bob the back window, IMO it looks terrible. With the PU like Tumbleweeds, GREAT truck BTW Tumbleweed I love it, you don't have that prpblem at all. But hey with the big overhang bobbed off and the front axle moved foreward they are one of the best platforms for building a crawler off of.

Great trucks thanks for posting.

Cheers

Here's my work in progress. 00 Tundra V8. SAC'ed with a HP44. Future work: bed platform/cover that will sit right below the bed rails but, enough room for my storage containers and spare tire. The platform wil be used to allow me to set-up the bed tent without having to remove the cargo from the bed. Other items to work on, undercarriage and bed lights, hard mounting and wiring my OBA, when the time comes, mounting some 35" BFG AT's.
