@soonenough is correct, it's Unistrut with 3/4" crossbars and expanded steel mesh that goes 3/4 length. I welded two tabs onto the front of the rack and used the bolts that came with the light bar to fasten it. You can faintly see two rubber "feet" which are threaded into the front bar of the rack with stainless hardware. They support/displace the weight of the light bar and rack front onto the roof. Thanks for the kind words! I've been having a lot of fun building the armor for my runner. Feel free to check out my build thread on T4R.org! It has a few more photos. http://www.toyota-4runner.org/3rd-gen-t4rs/123007-dtc81s-99-sr5-build-thread.html

well, its workmate aluminum shell with doors on the sides, then a custom over the shell rack with a baja rack mounted to it. its a work in progress, still have to put some finishing touches on it

What are you using to mount the RTT? Looks good.

Thanks! in those pics it is mounted to a rack I made out of uni-strut from HD that mounts to the factory rails. It works well, inexpensive and low profile.... but Now I have a Whitson Metalworks 3/4 roof rack. Crazy strong and low profile, though it sits a few inches higher

Nice, wish I could swing getting one of those Whitson racks... they look awesome. I had bought all the uni strut and hardware to make a rack for mine but it rubs on the roof sheet metal. I'm going to try to weld up a low profile rack out of some steel square tube... pretty much a welding noob so we'll see how that goes, though

Nice setup you have there. Do you have any pics of your roof rack?

Really like that cap. Do you know the model? Did a search, but couldn't find it.

here you go! http://www.socaltruck.net/workmate_shells

Its really light weight and costs way less than a fiberglass one. They could use a little help on the neatness of the welds but it is strong structurally. I chose to build the rack over/ around it so I wouldn't beat the crap out of the shell with stuff loaded on the rack.
