Just got a new toy, a 2005 Dr650 with 801 miles on the clock. Only took it on a short test ride - then had a busy week. Tonight I will take it for a real spin! Anyone know how these factory nobbies handle at freeway speeds? I've never ridden a set on payment before.
Well I got a old 2 stroke thumper!
Some people say it was the best motocross bike of its time and pretty rare now.
Here's my 83 CR480R she's a slow work in progress. I grew up riding this bike and just got it from my dad this yr. it needs a lot of work. He didn't take care of it. But it sat for the last 10yrs in his shed. I cleaned the carb and put some new oil in it and it fired right up!!
Finally picked up a beast to start exploring stuff my monster Lexus can't get to. My 16 month old son runs up to it every time he sees it and lifts his hands up and says "BRUM BRRRRRRRUM".
Its am 01 DRZ400S. At first I wanted a KLR650, but I wasn't comfortable with that heavy of a bike yet, so this will do for now. From the looks of other forums, I can outfit it pretty much the same with gear and toys.
the 400 is a fun bike... don't, and by don't i mean do, go look at supermoto racing on youtube, its a blast and thats a perfect bike for it if your into that kind of thing
Here is my current little Thumper during a 2 day 600 mile ride. 2007 KLX250S I picked up 2 months ago and has quickly become one of my favorite bikes to date. Very little power but brings a big smile to your face every time you ride it.
Love the left side kick. I had a couple bikes that were lefty's when I was a kid. A Husky and a KTM. I think my old Hodaka may have been a lefty, but I can't remember for sure. Keeps people that don't know ****** they are doing off of them.....
I bought this '97 back in 2005 or so with just 3500 miles on the clock. I rode it a LOT for about a year and had too many close calls and wife asked me to not ride every day (we had a kid on the way). It was a shame to let it sit so I sold it to a local guy who still has it today.
put a Staintune on it
I swapped out the windscreen to try and fix the buffeting of the stock one as well as swapped mirrors to Duc Monster versions. Better, but still an issue. Had I kept it and done trips out west, I would have put a big screen on.
