Took a trip up to Silver Lake Dunes and then up to Drummond Island Mi. last week. Here are a few pic's

This was our campsite at the State Park at Silver Lake. Spent two nights here.

Had a great time blasting around in the sand for awhile but soon got bored and decided to head further North to check out Drummond Island in the UP of Michigan.

This was from the ferry on the way over to the island

There was all kinds of different terrain to explore once we got on the island

We saw lots of wildlife on the island.
Oh yea, its not a good idea when your 10 miles back into the bush for a few days of wilderness camping to say to your wife " I hope we get to see some bear" After the reaction I got from that I thought it best not to point out the bear scat just a little ways from our campsite.

Very cool, I was just in both of those places recently, check out my thread: A Trip Around Michigan. I love that trailer, is it custom?

Its a M101CND that I customized for my needs. We have been very happy camping out of it.

Right at the other end of this is where I got stuck, and should have turned around!!

Looks like you had a good time.

Silver Lake can get boring after awhile. Unless you like beating the crap out of your stuff.

Hoffmaster Park has a nice campground and beach access.

Looks like a good trip Doug. Your rig is still as drool worthy as ever!

We were up that way in June and really enjoyed Drummond, though we avioded some of the trails including the one to Marblehead because of the size of the Tundra.

You would have thought the Misses would have been use to that after the Mon trip.

I had a 6yo literally crying in the passenger seat.

My wife was not much different... After all the rain we got after we were there she was worried we would not make it out. I was having a good ole time :wings:

Thanks Mark. The bear thing does not bother her untill she thinks about it.
I think were heading down to WV 9-18 to 9-21. Probably around the same area.

We'll be heading back form Cape Look Out on the OBX about then. Maybe we'll give you folks a shout and stop by and say "Hi" on our way back home!
