It will be a little more detailed I think. I have a lot of time on this one. I ordered the new water tank this morning, takes three weeks for it to get here, I am putting a skid under the trailer for this one and it will bolt as the tank will have to be removed from under the trailer, too big for a trap door set up. I may make a small shelf under the mattress for storage that will lift with gas strutts. The Restava mattress is pretty heavy to lift and hold. It will have a full 82 inch floor. That makes the trailer 6 inches longer with a 2 inch bumper. I have to figure the holding tank on this one as the bottom will be a lot different than the past trailers. May mount the water pump under the trailer and skid. I takes a lot of room under the counter/sink/stove area. This trailer will set two inches higher than the last, due to the 6 inch water tank. It will be encapsulated by 6 inch frame and skid. No chance of it every getting hit. The holding tank will have a skid plate also. The overall width will go up 1/2 inch due to the width of the water tank, 46 inches, so adding 1/2 inch between the main frame rails. I lose a little in the wheel wells but have nearly 4 inches for rock clearance so should be good. My fenders are 14 gauge steel with inner walls, so no chance of putting a rock through the side of the trailer. I think we are the only ones to do that. Off roading on serious trails, you have a good chance of spinning a rock into the wheel well, the steel inner eliminates worry for me.
I will be doing the fenders differently on this trailer. They will be the same fender, but will be bolted to the main lower frame on outriggers. I ran into problems sliding the sides in before, so this eliminates a building hassle. A lot of changes are being made for strength and long range durability. I am doing away with the front window on the trailer. I have learned over the last year that a freeway speeds in the rain the water comes in through the rubber seal, not around the window but in the rubber that the glass is held by. Really see no need for it with two doors. Sarge had asked for large hand grips on the inside and I will give it a try.
Changing the mounting of the Micro Wave, as mine came loose on the last trip. Will run a steel bar above it to hold it in place, but be able to remove it by sliding to the center of the trailer.
I will be working on a wind mill system for charging and running 12 volt system. Hopefully with the detail I plan to provide some will be able to incoorporate some things into their builds.
With close to 19,000 miles on my proto trailer, I have learned what works, what does not work as expected and what type of accessories work the best.
