Sleeping and water question

Just a quick thought:

By the time you modify the hammock with a pad and reflective barrier eitc, you're nearing the weight/bulk of a tarp tent which would allow you to sleep flat. I love hammocks, but if your sore and tired, sleeping on level ground might be better than the curve of a hammock.

That sounds like the right amount of clothing to wear, but I'll ask my question just to be sure. Are you sweating at all with this amount of clothing? A little sweat causes a big chill.

An additional thought: make sure you put on a clean set before you turn in. If you've been wearing these clothes all day they will be sweaty and make you cold.

But you probably knew that...

In a hammocks like the Hennesy you sleep on a level diagonal to the center line, so curvature is not a problem. Many find it more comfortable than the ground, even with a good pad.

Craig...haven't been sweating.

Adventurebuddy...one of the reasons I went with a hammock was b/c I knew I wouldn't have to look for even ground to sleep on in the middle of the night. With the hammock, I can sleep in rocky terrain, or even over a stream for that matter.

Carrott...the Steri pen is another one that I'm looking into. Thanks.

Lynn...clean clothes?? Unfortunately I don't have room for clean clothes. My system is to wash the cycling stuff out daily and sleep commando in my rain pants. :wings:

Steri-pen, coffee filter, and a touch of flavoring has worked flawlessly for me for years now.
