Sliders, care to share what you have on your Jeep?

feel they are mounted well enough to survive an impact? (not your work/install), but the actual mounting points? maybe more is better to spread the load of the impact out a bit more? or would more points of attachment possibly cause more snag spot?
Just trying to figure out which is better, AJ or JCR because they are so close in price & looks...
thanks

For less obtrusive I vote JCR. Basically its armor plating for whats there and works great, no additional real loss of clearance. For the next stage I go with more common 2x6 rails and removal of the factory rockers completely. Adds tank like strength and may even gain clearance. Plus, if you build them right you can use them as two air tanks, deleting the need for an additional air storage unit elsewhere. :)
First time I saw this was on NAXJA and just this morning on Cherokee forums. Here's the linky to CFs as I can't find the NAXJA one very fast.

Aj's is under new management. Quality/product QC has not yet been determined by the xj crowd:

Sucks cuz AJ had built a solid reputation and supported naxja actively. When JCR was having qc issues(which seemingly have since been resolved?) his shop was still cranking out good products with great cust. service.

Anywho, kevins or JCR and maybe some of the others will likely have what you need. Not sure i'd risk a "maybe" with AJ's, right now.

oops... guess I should have been a wee bit more specific in my choice. :)
These are the JCR units I prefer. Hug the body lines and are plenty stout without becoming cumbersome.

While those are really trick looking I think they will cause some serious problems.
I'm thinking they will trap water/ moisture = causing rust. (even tho the Co. says to put a thin bead of silcone along the top edges.)
they will trap dirt = causing rubbing on the body.
and if they were to take a big hit from a rock there isn't much space between to allow for movement.
Maybe I over thunk this... ?

Maybe in the rust belt...They're fine the in the western US. Ran a set of rokmen sliders that were very much the same design. No issues.

Paint'em, silicon them, and bolt 'em up....:)

To each their own seems a standing mantra here so I'll just offer the repeat of it. I think they are plenty strong for anything a medium-medium HD off road excursion could offer. The fact that they hug the lines of the jeep means no extra stuff poking out to snag a rock you may have missed. With all the tie in points I'd also say it does a far better job of adding both strength and stiffness to the uni body than a more traditional rocker that just uses a couple "feet" to bolt to the faux frame.... And I run a similar sort of armor on my Scrambler and a bead of silicone on the top keeps most rain out but the bottom is open and allows me to just stick a hose up there to rinse it all down following a muddy trail or winter weather driving. No issues thus far.

x2 on all the pro's of this type of armor.

And yup, I'll echo that no one product will fill everyone's needs (that's the fun of jeeps, lots of choices when it comes to add-ons :)) and everyone's entitled to choosing what's best for their needs/climate/terrain.

Cheers!
